About Candelario Cervantez
Meet The Artist
Candelario has always loved creating art. Throughout his childhood he was inspired by the pastoral scenery which surrounded him in his hometown of Wharton, Texas. His art tends to portray inspirational messages of hope, faith, and family.
Even in his professional business career, art has played a role. His first professional job was at the Museum of Fine Arts-Houston (MFAH) as a development associate. At MFAH Candelario garnered a deeper appreciation for different types of art and the responsibility that the stewards of this art carry. Since his time at MFAH Candelario has worked in International Business Development, Healthcare, Education and has volunteered on several non-profit boards to help his community.
For Candelario art is not simply a hobby or even a passion, he feels a deep calling to express his faith and hope through his creative perspective. He continues to be inspired by new and beautiful natural landscapes that he seeks out during vacations and in his everyday life.
Candelario's paintings are unique, poignant, and thought provoking. His goal is to utilize his art to connect with others on a deep level and to evoke passion, reflection and gratitude for the gifts of nature and faith. He had his first public art showing in 2011 at the Glassell School of Art during which he debuted his Easter Series "Serie de Pascua." He continues to explore his art via different mediums and subjects. Candelario works and lives in Houston, Texas, with his beautiful muse and wife Andrea and their daughter.
