Description
This painting was conceived as a wedding anniversary gift for his parents after learning about Salvador Dali and surrealism. The idea of this painting came from the idea of "Two Becoming One" In a matrimony the bride and groom seen on either side of the painting apart come together in the middle of the painting forming one person. You will also see to large mountains in the background and with-in the mountains you will see two faces appear. Those faces represent the parents of the matrimony and the entire mountain represents their families. In the Hispanic culture when two people marry they don't only marry each other they marry the families as well. At the top of the painting you will see three rocks sitting atop a cloud. These rocks symbolize the three children of the matrimony. Only together can the matrimony hold up the cloud and the whole family. Apart the cloud starts to fall and the bride and groom can't quite reach the sky to hold up the family. If you walk away from the painting you will see an eye appear. The matrimony in the middle form the pupil, the cloud and the ground form the eyelids, and the three rocks form the eyelashes. The eye itself represents the eye of God in the matrimony.
